| Interview With Mike Huckabee; Interview With Mike McConnell
Last night you tried your hand at "Saturday Night Live," during the "Weekend Update" segment. I want to play a little segment of the show. And then we'll talk about it on the other side. Let's listen. HUCKABEE: All right. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) SETH MEYERS, "SNL WEEKEND UPDATE ANCHOR": Even if you won every remaining unpledged delegate, you would still fall 200 delegates short. (LAUGHTER) HUCKABEE: Wow. Seth, that was an excellent explanation. (LAUGHTER) But I'm afraid that you overlooked the all-important superdelegates. Don't forget about them. MEYERS: Well, I won't forget about them. But the superdelegates are only in the Democratic primaries.
Software EU Pummels Microsoft With $1.4B USD Fine
Your completely right when you are talking about old type of business.Like when car makers started making cars in the 1900 they only had more ore less there local marked to sell there products. So they could all grow around the same pase, and they had a solid foundation when the marked started to get global.Whit a software company like MS they could sell there product strait world wide so there was no time for competitive OSes to mature except UNIX and Linux but they have les then 5% marked shareAnd the OS is something that makes the the programs run like petrol dose whit cars.Would you like to have one oil company having patented on petrol and running the hole petrol business ?petrol would then properly cost around $20 a gallon. .
Ellis CEO sees 'primary care mall' at St. Clare's site
Connolly also sees the possible addition of a woman's health care center on the Ellis campus. That would eventually take the place of Bellevue Woman's Hospital, the Niskayuna hospital Ellis took over in October. He said an aged building behind the main hospital could be demolished to make room for the new facility. Ellis itself has no obstetrics department, so it provides those services only through its Bellevue division. But Connolly said the Bellevue campus "needs work" and St. Clare's maternity department is too small to serve as the future site of woman's health care for the combined institution. It is still very early in the process. Connolly said a steering committee, made up of representatives of both Ellis and St. Clare's, was formed Thursday morning.
Stanford gives large boost to aid
The Q&A was posted on the day Dartmouth announced its financial aid changes. "That was a very sensible thing for us to do ... to get out there and provide the information I suspect that families are looking for," Tilghman said of Moscato’s Q&A. "[It was] very effective in saying we don’t see things changing very much." The expanded aid programs at peer institutions will be unlikely to affect overall yield at the University, Moscato said. "I don’t think [the financial aid reforms] will make a very big difference overall as to where people choose to go to school," she said. Students who are offered better need-based aid packages at other schools often have their Princeton offers adjusted accordingly, she added. "I think that it’s a very good thing that so many top schools are now devoting the [type of] resources that we have [been devoting] for the past six years to improving financial aid," Moscato said.
Sports Columnists
The Thrashers opened the post-All-Star, it's-now-or-never part of their schedule with a 4-1 win over Pittsburgh. It ended a five-game winless streak (0-3-2), which was their longest skid since a coach got fired. But we've seen this team morph from one form to another game-to-game, so excitement tends to be muted. Or, to quote Bobby Holik: "I'm absolutely not pleased by anything because we've done this many times before, and we failed immediately after. Complacency is our worst enemy." Imagine his comments if they had lost. Then there is Ilya Kovalchuk, or at least the remains of him. He suffered a right knee injury early in the second period after being checked knee-on-knee by the Penguins' Jarkko Ruutu. There was some debate in the two locker rooms whether the hit was dirty, but Ruutu's comment, "I barely hit him," would be amusing, if Kovalchuk weren't in so much agony.
Manley recommends extending Afghan mission
You and I both know the manley panel on Canada's mission in Afghanistan (combat versus a purely humanitarian only) is akin to asking a panel made up of don cherry, bobby clarke, bob probert to advise Canadians on fighting in hockey. It would be imposible to find a more hawkish individual who labels themselves Liberal. It is his reson d'etre. Kabul is the original UN and Nato mission (in the North) where Canada spent 4 years building schools, hospitals, homes, water supplies, democracy building, and development aid. That mission is still continuing with the help of 30 countries under the UN mandate, and is reaping considerable success. Canadian troops were respected, appreciated and not once attacked by the population as an invasion force in Kabul, since they were a force for good.
Response to InfoWorld’s Choices on 2007’s Top Technology
First of all, I must note for the record that InfoWorld has never given me an award as being top in any category. I'm thankful that they've spared their readers that pain. Now that I've gotten that over with, I'd like to comment on an article I recently read over at InfoWorld. David Marshall, a well known comentator on the virtualization arena and quite an interesting person, comments on his choices of the best technology from 2007. Although several fine products are mentioned, they seem to be the obvious choices because they offered technology that certainly was good enough to statisfy the needs of many organizations and were both highly and successfully publicized by their developers. What about the technology that was less highly publicized but, very interesting nevertheless? I suspect that the products that were easiest to defend were selected due to the limited space allowed for such discussions.
Missionary food stories: Called — and served
Large corn or hominy, potatoes, carrots and a bit of grass (cut up like chives) is added. It is served as a soup, eaten with freshly baked bread and, of course, salsa. As a missionary I had a new "greenie" from South Jordan. We woke up that morning and went to our appointment, where patasca was being served. I gave him a taste from my bowl to see if he liked it. He said yes, so we asked for a bowl for him. After we left I asked him if he knew what he had just eaten. I told him what it was and that he shouldn't have any problem eating anything in the mission after that. Going once, going twice ...
Whether through a foreclosure or a regular sale, more people are turning to auctions to sell their homes, according to a Roanoke County Web design and hosting company specializing in the auction industry. AuctionServices.com was founded in the Roanoke Valley in 1994, and it hosts more than 400 Web sites for auctioneers in the United States and Canada. The company made news this week after its server became flooded with more than 100,000 visitors in a four-hour period on Tuesday, thanks to a high-dollar home listing posted to a blog by celebrity gossip writer Perez Hilton. Hilton linked to a listing for the former mansion of Louis Pearlman, founder and promoter of the Backstreet Boys and other boy bands. In the past year, an increasing number of foreclosed homes and nondistressed properties have been sold through auction sites hosted by AuctionServices.com, said marketing director Tammy Moore.
Mozilla patches critical Thunderbird flaw
The US Computer Emergency Response Team recommended that users update to the latest versions of both applications. Users can also patch the flaw by changing the application's 'mailnews.display.disallow_mime_handlers' property to any value greater than three. News of the vulnerability comes just one week after Mozilla spun off Thunderbird into a subsidiary company known as Mozilla Messaging. .
Hospital scores well in on the spot inspection
The Healthcare Commission team arrived for the inspection on January 31. The hospital received their draft report on February 11. The hospital was being tested on its infection control techniques, its cleanliness and providing isolation facilities. The full results have not been released as they are still subject to the potential of change, said head of nursing Kathryn Holbourn at the meeting. However the hospital did meet all duties except for its auditing programme. But this had already been identified and is part of the plan for 2008/09, said Mrs Holbourn. 3:54pm today Print  Email this Comment .b_box { border: 1px solid #D7D7D7; background-color: #EEEEEE; color: #000000; padding: 5px; width: 307px; } .b_box img { border: 1px solid #D7D7D7; padding: 5px; background-color: #ffffff; } .b_box a, .b_box a:visited .b_box a:active { color: #000000 !important; } .b_box a:hover { color: #FF0000 !important; } .msg_div { padding: 0px; width: 307px; clear: left; } .entry { border-left: 1px solid #D7D7D7; border-right: 1px solid #D7D7D7; padding: 5px; width: 307px; } .entry2 { border-left: 1px solid #D7D7D7; border-right: 1px solid #D7D7D7; padding: 5px; min-height: 80px; } .b_entry { border-left: 1px solid #D7D7D7; border-right: 1px solid #D7D7D7; border-bottom: 1px solid #D7D7D7; padding: 5px; width: 307px; } fieldset { margin-top: 10px; border: 1px solid #D7D7D7; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; padding: 0px; } legend { padding: 2px 6px; color: #000000; background: #EEEEEE; border: 1px solid #D7D7D7; font-weight: bold; margin-left: 10px; } .headcell { text-align: center; color: #000000; background: #EEEEEE; border-bottom: 1px solid #D7D7D7; } .headcell a:link, .headcell a:visited, .headcell a:active { color: #000000; } .headcell a:hover { color: #FF0000; } .caltab { border: 1px solid #D7D7D7; margin-top: 5px; } .year_daycell { text-decoration: underline; text-align: center; } .year_fullcell { background: #EEEEEE; border: 1px solid #D7D7D7; } blockquote { border: 2px outset #D7D7D7; } .buttonclass { background: #EEEEEE; color: #000000; } .
