Dems Should Thank Nader, Not Trash Him
Hillary Clinton blamed Ralph Nader this weekend for Al Gore's 2000 loss to George W. Bush. She's hardly the first to make such a statement, but the comment reveals the patronizing attitudes that still pervade her party. Barack Obama wasn't much nicer, saying Nader "did not know what he was talking about" when he claimed there was no difference between Bush and Gore. But it's Clinton's comments that really got to me: She said categorically that Nader "is responsible for George W. Bush." She's wrong. You know who is "responsible" for Bush being elected? Gore. The Democratic Party. The American public. I first became aware of Nader as a high-school senior in 1996. I didn't get to vote that year - the election was held about five weeks before I turned 18 - but I would have voted for him.
Scottsdale collision reports now for sale online
Scottsdale motorists involved in fender benders can now buy instant traffic collision reports online. The Scottsdale Police Department started offering the service Monday through a partnership with Michigan-based Tracview.com. The collision reports, which will be available for the public to download 24 hours a day, will be available five to 10 business days after a crash. "We were approached by insurance companies and investigators on obtaining a service like this one for some time," said Scottsdale police records manager Michael Keran. "Convenience was the main piece in our decision. Insurance companies, investigators and citizens can now have the option of downloading the collision reports online as opposed to coming down to the station or requesting by mail." The reports can be bought online with a credit card for $9.

They began to insult us concerning our deceased band director. Yes we were wrong in possibly "taunting" the fans but the Fremd fans and parents were even more disrespectful by throwing not only water bottles but also beer bottles, showing us the finger. .

Apple announces SDK for the iPhone, support for Microsoft Exchange and that "Spore" is coming to the iPhone Apple has promised the software development kit (SDK) for the iPhone for months now. The SDK was delayed slightly, but Apple delivered today and it's most definitely firing on all cylinders. First off, Apple announced that is targeting enterprise customers with a wealth of new feature on the iPhone. The iPhone will now support push email/calendar/contacts, global address lists, Cisco IPsec VPN, Certificates and Identities, WPA2/802.11x and remote wipe. In addition, Apple is bringing the oft-requested support for Microsoft Exchange via Microsoft ActiveSync -- Apple licensed ActiveSync specifically for this purpose. Apple also revealed on its Cupertino campus that the iPhone SDK is available today for third-party developers.

A year later, Chief Illiniwek debate remains at U. Illinois
Other University traditions have not been retired along with the Chief. The traditional music that was played when the Chief was the symbol is still played by the Marching Illini during halftime of sporting events at the University. "There are people who say there's too much expression of the Chief Illiniwek still," said Tom Hardy, executive director for University relations. "They don't want him on homecoming parades, and they would change performance music from the band that pre-dates Chief Illiniwek because they associate it with the Chief." Miranda Jimenez, junior in LAS, said she feels that using the traditional music of the Chief is encouraging people to hold on to the negative ideology the Chief represented. "I think (the music) evokes the same ideologies of having a person perform traditional dances, and that's offensive," Jimenez said.

The Hydetown Firemen's Festival is June 13 and 14. We at the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Department are starting the plans for the Firemen's Festival 2008. We would like to include the coverage area of the fire department. Who would like to help or take part? Green Mayonnaise
In a food processor fitted with the metal blade or a good blender, process the herbs and lemon juice with about 1/4 cup mayonnaise until well pureed.
